Iain "Oaf" Weir was brought up in a musical household in Southend-on-Sea where he was exposed to Opera and
Classical Music by his piano and violin virtuoso father and multi-instrumentalist mother.
From such firm foundations Oaf discovered drums, guitar and bass at an early age and developed a fine ear for
harmony and counterpoint - a skill which has served him well ever since.
Unable to pay attention on boring academic school classes, Oaf dreamed of a musical career and settled on a life
of a roving minstrel ever since, playing with such luminaries as:
Ever-morphing his style ("to keep my many fans on their toes") Oaf has such a diverse output that,
to the unwary at least, one could get giddy. A hybrid British-musical Hobo who has mastered such
styles as Satanic Christian Heavy Rock, Doom Metal, 60's garage goodies and trash.
There was no such thing as a lean musical period for this multi-talented artist.
Equation Records are truly lucky and privileged to have played at least a (small) part of this exciting and
inspiring musical odyssey.
Oaf sang backing "hey-hey"'s on Song For The Common Man. A bit of a push to include this here but we feel that without his "hey hey"'s the record would only be as half as good!
